THE COMPLETE STORIES Volumes One, Two, Three and Four - Morley Callaghan The complete short fiction of Morley Callaghan appears as he comes into full recognition as one of the singular storytellers of our time. In four volumes, several stories are collected for the first time, and two of the longer stories "An Autumn Penitent" and "In His Own Country" have been out of print for decades. Hemingway said his early stories were the equal of Joyce and Tolstoy; of his middle years, The New York Times said: "If there is a better story writer in the world we dont know where he is," and Edmund Wilson compared his later work to Turgenev and Chekhov.
